Just fifty short hours from right now is the Plant/Let’s Play House LOVE ME TOO mega-shindig at The 303 At Louie & Chan. So rest up and don’t blow your load Wednesday night and then be too wiped for this or you will definitely regret it!

Also, the online assault continues on the front page of SPIN as they premiere Son of Sound’s exclusive “Floor’s Yours” on their homepage with a nice brief history of Plant Music and Plant Bar (R.I.P.). Check it out!

Back to my house for some LADYFINGERS

tumblr_ltllyvK7751qzjw8go1_500

Yesterday EARMILK showed some love to our forthcoming LOVE ME TOO compilation posting the exclusive new Whatever/Whatever track  ‘Ladyfingers”. As you may or may not know, W/W is Justin Strauss and Bryan Mette. Justin is a New York DJ legend and has been making music since his band Milk n’ Cookies signed to Island Records in 1974 and makes a number of appearances on the comp. He’s remixed everyone from Depeche Mode to Tina Turner, and Luther Vandross to Fine Young Cannibals. The music he makes with Bryan is always funky, unique and never whatever.

Again drawing its name and inspiration from the unique artwork of world renowned visual artist Curtis Kulig‘s iconic ‘Love Me‘, the album features the next wave of DJ and producer talent from NY, but also includes artists from Los Angeles, Europe, and Canada. The official release is April 8 with a March 25 ‘Beatport Exclusive Edition’ with extended mixes for DJs and a bonus club cut from longtime Plant-man Eli Escobar.

Also, won’t you please join us for the release party for our first sequel comp venture? We think you’ll like it and it will be well worth the price of admission (free).

Also/Also, if you haven’t seen Phil Hartman on Sprockets! as a German she-male who loves ladyfingers please do that as well for free!

Crazy Kids…

Velcro-05ct2

They say the children that spin around and round with outstretched arms til they pass out on the lawn are the ones who end up doing drugs later in life. We say the ones who strap on velcro suits and jump on walls end up in meeting in Hollywood nightclubs and making house music. Kevin Ross and Enrique Martinez prove at least one of those theories true.

After releases on Hot N Heavy and ALiVE Recordings, the duo better known as Velcro have brought their classic house sound to Plant with their “Runaway” EP which is now available exclusively on Beatport (iTunes and elsewhere March 4). We’ve also decided to stream the entire EP for you on our Soundcloud. BUT THAT’S NOT ALL.

Plant is in a really giving mood at the moment. It may be this sudden nice NY weather or the fact that we’ve had such a great Black History Month (a collective Plant best since 2008!), but if you act now, we’re offering a free DL of Velcro’s home city-inspired “City of Angels” AT THIS VERY MOMENT! You may have heard this song if you listened to Todd ‘The God’ Edwards terrific new Dummy mix. And you may have heard of him because he just won a freaking Grammy. You may also have heard title track “Runaway” if you listen to Sinden’s  Kiss FM radio show. And you may hear any one of their excellent bootlegs if you go to a discerning nightclub in the immediate future.

You may definitely hear a lot about Velcro in 2014 with tons of releases planned, starting with this one. So go get your druggie kids out of the yard and off the walls and let them check out this EP…it could just save their lives.
