Australia’s Clubfeet, who were #3 most blogged band on The Hype Machine last week, are in New York this week for CMJ as part of their US debut which also includes two showcases in LA. We cannot stress enough how great this band are and we are so excited to see them play this week. Catch them at Pianos on Monday, Dominion on Tuesday, at either of their two shows Wednesday (joined by Dominique on the decks at Nicky Digital’s CMJ party) or at either of their Saturday shows.
Quite possibly the Southern Hemisphere’s best kept secret, Clubfeet are ready to announce their arrival to the world at CMJ this October in New York.
Clubfeet are the holy union of five sons of Melbourne and Cape Town (via the French Riviera). Together, they create music for the night time, which can also be enjoyed in the day time. It is dreamy, melancholic indie-pop, that sounds just as inspiring on a club floor on a Saturday night as it does on a lazy Sunday by the sea side.
Having picked up a 7.7 on Pitchfork and all sorts of blog/taste maker love (see Spin, Filter, Dazed, RCRDLBL, Discobelle etc) for their Gold On Gold long player the band have embarked on the Gold On Gold video project – www.goldongold.tv . In collaboration with acclaimed Sydney fashion videographer Alex Goddard together they curate and plot a model studded (and at times NSFW) audio-visual path through their music, along the road creating a new way for people to experience the album.
‘Last Words’ is the new single from the project and features remixes from legendary hedonist and French disco icon Dimitri From Paris, indie club producer Andrew Maury, aka RAC and London’s emerging nu-disco champions The C90s.
