Clubfeet – BrightLightsBigCity

The past year has seen the Melbourne / Cape Town five-piece receive huge international acclaim from Pitchfork, The Guardian, Spin, Dazed, Filter, Discobelle and the like, regularly chart on Hype Machine / We Are Hunted / Elbows, debut their live show at CMJ (where they landed in Paste’s ‘10 Great Bands from CMJ’ list) and have two singles on high rotation in their quasi-homeland of Australia.

BrightLightsBigCity concludes the six-chapter video project on its most vibrant, celebratory note yet. Director Alex Goddard hand-painted the processed 8mm frame by frame in an extremely exhausting process that has definitely paid in spades. It features subtle nods to each of the previous clips, including a welcome return from superbabe Tiah Eckhardt (Count Your Lovers). There are accompanying remixes by The Whip, Jetlag (feat. Andy Rourke of The Smiths), Mercury (Exploited) and All Dom Wrong (Plant Music’s founder). Dubs for The Whip and All Dom Wrong mixes are also included.

While co-curating the Gold on Gold video project, Clubfeet have been working on material for their upcoming EP (due out mid-year), which will feature their first originals in close to two years.
